Well, hasn’t it been an interesting year, or a portion thereof. While we lost the last 1/3 of our active year to the social distancing requirements of the Coronavirus pandemic, we had a great beginning, full of change.
After 17 years of meeting at the Lakeway Resort and Spa, due to cost, we were forced to find a new meeting location. And that turned out to be a nice change to the new Flintrock Falls Country Club Ballroom with beautiful views, an adjacent flat parking lot and delicious luncheon menus. Thank you Pam Filas and Kim Majkszak, Hospitality Chairs, for managing the complexities of that change.
Entering the private gated community happened smoothly for non-resident, non-ClubCorp members thanks to Jan Rouse, our Entry Gate Czar. And, with all that is going on, there will, no doubt, be more changes to come.
Judy Baer and Dianne Haeg chaired one of the most fun kickoff-events we’ve ever had, and Susan Jerke and Ann McCann-- with the assistance of Marianna Jacobs and Joan Peterson-- pulled off an amazing Fashion Show at a new venue, the Sonesta Hotel Ballroom.
1st Vice President, Nancy Bain provided us with interesting speakers, including, no less than, the First Lady of Texas, Cecilia Abbott with her inspirational words. We had capacity or near-capacity attendance at all events and received so many nice and constructive comments from all of you.
The wonderful plans that Dianne and Judy had for our Spring Dance, unfortunately, we were unable to enjoy, but we hope that the majority of the plans that Susan, Ann and Marianna have for the Installation Luncheon, normally held in May, might be enjoyed at a future General Meeting.
And, a big thank you goes to the rest of my fabulous Executive and Standing Board members. Every one of them has done an outstanding job, most behind the scenes and unrecognized, to make this such a successful year. I truly appreciate your service and support.
And now, I am proud to announce the results of our email, absentee-ballot election of the 2020- 2021 officers:
President Nancy Bain
1st Vice President Sheila Niles
2nd Vice President Sara Scarberry
Recording Secretary Diann Blevins

So, farewell to our membership of 506 women. It’s been a pleasure to serve as your president during these challenging times. Thank you so much for the great attitude everyone had toward the necessary changes. Stay safe and we will see you in September.
