Dr. Ginny Catania, UT Professor and Glaciologist, will speak at the January General Meeting where she will tell us about her fascinating work leading expeditions to Greenland for months at a time where they camp out on polar ice sheets and work in challenging conditions to monitor ice sheet motion and to deploy instruments that relay information to satellites with the goal of learning more about our environment.
Alan Graham, Founder & CEO of Mobile Loaves and Fishes, a social outreach nonprofit in Austin that provides food and clothing and promotes dignity to homeless men and women in need, will speak at the February General Meeting.
Alan is also the lead visionary behind MLF’s Community First! Village, a master-planned community in East Austin that provides affordable, permanent micro housing and a supportive community for those transitioning out of homelessness. Alongside its array of tiny homes designed by some of Austin’s most acclaimed architects, the village offers community gardens, medical facilities, a movie theater, and a market, but above all, perhaps, it aims to restore hope and deliver dignity.
The Experts at Nordstrom will present Fashion Focus: Express your Style! at our March General Meeting where they will share information about current Spring and Summer trends, along with tips on coordinating outfits and accessories to create total looks that express your personal style.
Conni Reed, Texas-based artist and Founder and CEO of Consuela will speak at the April 25th General Meeting. Consuela is a fashion and lifestyle brand creating products and experiences that inspire individuals to find joy in the journey. They are well know for their unique and beautiful handbags. Consuela was recognized as a Forbes Small Giant in 2020, an award given to companies led by purpose-driven leaders who choose greatness over growth and prioritize their people.
